Workshop: Improvisierte elektronische Live-Musik mit

SKINNERBOX

Improvising Live Electronic Music: Mapping, macros
and constraints for spontaneous live sets
Thanks to their ability to jam and improvise in the moment, the Berlinbased
duo Skinnerbox have built a solid reputation as an exciting,
dancefloor-filling electronic live act. Not satisfied with readymade
solutions for their freewheeling marathon sets, Skinnerbox even
developed their own custom Time & Timbre software in order to take
their impro-rave sessions into higher and deeper musical terrain.
In this workshop, Skinnerbox will share their philosophy and many of
their techniques for improvising live electronic music. Topics will
include using your computer as an instrument, coming up with
arrangements on the spot, making (and not making) mistakes, and
using restraint and formal constraints to gain freedom. The workshop
will conclude with a series of jam sessions that will put your freshly
acquired improvisational knowledge and skills to practical use.
